Promoting LeoFinance on Publish0x! What are your 3 favorite things about LEO?
Promoting LEO and HIVE
I was doing some cross-posting to Publish0x earlier today when I came across a short post I made about LEO. Not wanting to let it go to waste, I decided to expand upon it and make it a bit more useful.
In the post I highlighted a few of the things about LEO I find intriguing.
It was hard only picking 3, but I don't really like writing SUPER long posts as I'm typically not a fan of reading them either. Get to the point, tell me what I should/need to know and don't waste my time. 😝
Anyway, this post had me wondering what it is that others enjoy about LEO? If you had to pick 3 things to highlight about LEO, what would they be and why? (kicking myself for forgetting to mention the people/community)
I decided to go with 3 things that I thought sound the most appealing to someone who is completely unfamiliar with LEO:
- 16% ROI via @leo.voter
- De-fi (wLEO, LBI, etc.)
- Simplified onboarding.
Though if I were to choose what I personally enjoy the most, it would be:
- The active community and curation.
- @leo.voter 16% ROI.
- The LEO team.
If you're interested in browsing the post I wrote and my answer to that question, I've quoted it and linked it below.
My Journey Back to Hive
So, I decided to get back in to blogging over at Hive. When doing so I was browsing some of the projects that have been built with Hive Engine which led me to re-stumbling upon LeoFinance. And all I have to say is... WOW! The LeoFinance team has come a long way since I first heard of this project back before the Steem/Hive blockchain split.
The homepage now looks absolutely awesome! I think LEO is my new default frontend for Hive. Both the dark and light versions look excellent! The addition of the social share buttons is another excellent feature.
New Leo Features (DeFi, Twitter signup, and more!)
The Leo team has also ventured into the de-fi space by offering a wrapped version of their LEO token, wLEO. This token exists on the Ethereum network and serves as a way to exchange value between the two networks.Introducing LeoInfra V2 Onboarding to Hive Made Easy Twitter Lite Accounts.png
Another great feature that the Leo team has implemented has to do with onboarding new users to the Hive ecosystem. This is known as LeoInfra.
LeoInfra now allows users to create a Hive account by simply logging in with their existing Twitter account! This is big news because it makes the Hive signup process 1000x more simple. So simple that even grandma could do it.
I have a feeling that they will be adding additional signup options. It would be nice to see one for Facebook and Google as well. This would open up opportunity to gain users. Facebook and Google both have billions of users on their networks and making their transition to Hive available with just a couple clicks opens up a lot of potential new users!
The last little feature I'd like to talk about (there are a lot more. I could go on for quite awhile), is the 16% return you can earn by delegating your Hive Power to the @leo.voter account. This not only benefits you as a delegator, but the LEO and HIVE ecosystems as a whole. This is taken directly from a LEO post:
@leo.voter is our official curation account for the LeoFinance community. Delegators receive a 16% APR on their HIVE POWER when they delegate it to this account.
We use @leo.voter for 100% manual curation of LeoFinance community content along with the claiming of account creation tokens and delegations of 10 HP to each new signup.
With over 1.5M HIVE POWER currently delegated to the @leo.voter account, we're already capable of onboarding ~75-100 new signups sustainably per day.
While we could ask for other users to provide their account creation tokens and HP delegations to new signups, I much prefer a sustainable approach that provides a win for the users who delegate and a win for the LeoFinance community as a whole.
Having more HIVE POWER in @leo.voter means:
More scalability for LeoFinance signups (account creation tokens generated per day.
More HP to delegate to new users (derived from curation rewards and delegated out to signups for resource credits)
Higher rewards for our existing community (larger HIVE-based upvotes)
Anyway, this is just a short post to show you some of the cool stuff going on at Hive and LeoFinance and to say good job and keep up the great work to their respective teams!
Personally, I am taking 50% of my HIVE post rewards and using them to buy and stake LEO tokens. LeoFinance has done an excellent job and imo serves as the best example of how to make a successful community on the Hive blockchain.
